Telling your data story with the Art + Data methodology

In working with hundreds of organizations over the years, Zack has noticed a common problem the majority of companies struggle with. They’ve invested significant time, energy and money in gaining access to their data and preparing it for use in the business. Yet they overlook one critical piece of the puzzle: developing capabilities to find and visualize the most important stories in their data.

In this presentation you will learn:

    1. The three step Art + Data process.
    2. 10 Data Storytelling techniques.
    3. Hands-on time to implement the process and techniques using a sample scenario or a real business scenario of your choice.

Bonus:

If you currently use Tableau Desktop, come with a dashboard you would like to re image leveraging the Art + Data Methodology.

If you don’t currently use Tableau, feel free to bring a dashboard in the platform of your choice or download a free trial of Tableau

What’s new in Excel

We discuss a breadth of new features that capitalize on Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence and modern spreadsheeting:

Power Query enhances self-service business intelligence (BI) for Excel with an intuitive and consistent experience for discovering, combining, and refining data across a wide variety of sources.

Intelligent cloud-backed Office 365 features such as Stocks and Geography data types open up Excel to recognize more than text and numbers and Ideas in Excel helps you identify interesting trends and patterns in your data, providing charts with formatting and titles as well as accelerating data analysis and understanding.

Dynamics Array revolutionize the modern spreadsheeting experience.  With a set of new charts and our one-click forecasting feature, we’ve added more capabilities to reduce the amount of work the user has to do to get to the visualizations or analysis they want
