      Stuart Cameron McLeod Society

Founded in 1934, this special organization was formed to recognize current and past National Officers and directors of the IMA. The Stuart Cameron McLeod Society provides an opportunity for its members to offer leadership and guidance in the development, growth and expansion of the Institute as well as promote and perpetuate friendships developed through service in the Institute.

The Bellevue chapter has three members of the Stuart Cameron McLeod Society: Roger L. King, John Fedor, and Fred W. Gallimore

      Seattle Chapter History

The Seattle Chapter of the IMA received its charter in December 1946. The Seattle Chapter was the 88th chapter of the IMA (then called the National Association of Cost Accountants, which later changed to the National Association of Accountants (NAA)). Members of the chapter held their monthly meetings primarily in downtown Seattle. During the 1960s and 1970s monthly meetings were rotated between Seattle and Tacoma. In 1977 the Mt. Rainier (Tacoma Area) Chapter was established by separating from the Seattle Chapter, and in 1982-83 the Bellevue-Eastside Chapter was established by members separating from the Seattle Chapter.

      Most Valuable Members
The “Most Valuable Member” selection process is designed to recognize those members who have distinguished themselves by providing outstanding service to the Seattle Chapter membership. The perpetual and personally inscribed “Most Valuable Member” trophy is awarded at the annual May meeting.

      IMA Twenty-Fiver Club

Long-time members add great depth and experience to our organization.  To acknowledge those with exceptional tenure, the Executive Committee adopted a suggestion from the Stuart Cameron McLeod Society and the Committee on Marketing and Membership to provide special recognition for those who have been members continuously for at least 25 years.  This recognition is national in concept, but presented locally.  A specially designed certificate names the individual as a member of the “IMA Twenty-Fiver Club.”
